Do Not Call Registry Rights
Customers may reduce the number of unwanted or uninvited calls to their homes from telemarketers by registering their residential telephone numbers for free on the National Do-Not-Call List. The Federal Communications Commission and the Federal Trade Commission are responsible for enforcing the rules of the National Do-Not-Call list. This List is nationwide in scope, applies to all telemarketers (with the exception of certain non-profit organizations), and covers both interstate and intrastate telemarketing calls.
Customers who are not already on the National Do-Not-Call List may register their residential numbers online at www.donotcall.gov, or by calling 1-888-382-1222 from the telephone number they wish to register.
For TTY, call 1-866-290-4236.
Registered telephone numbers remain on the National Do-Not-Call List for five (5) years.
Customers may re-register their telephone numbers(s) on the list when the five years have passed, and may remove their numbers(s) from the list at any time.
Colorado Do Not Call Registry
Customers may also register their residential numbers with the Colorado No-Call List; customers can register online at www.coloradonocall.com or by calling 1-800-309-7041.
To be sure that you are included on a no call list and so telemarketers do not call, Coloradans are encouraged to register on both this website and the National Do Not Call Registry. Recently, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) stopped accepting no call information from the states. As a result, the Public Utilities Commission recommends that subscribers register on both sites. More information is available on their website.
